Senior Manager of Equipment and Fleet

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on an exciting and challenging new role within our organization. The Senior Manager of Equipment and Fleet is responsible for the overall success of our 400+ Fleet, consisting of Vocational trucks, Float, Live bottom, Hopper and Dump Trailers, Yellow Iron, and Light vehicles at Fowler Construction.

In this role, you will provide direction and leadership to your team to ensure the maintenance of an efficient and productive fleet. This includes the budgeting, inventory, procurement, maintenance, and distribution of the Fleet. We are seeking an experienced leader who is mechanically minded and experienced in successful fleet management. The Senior Manager of Equipment and Fleet will play an integral role as part of our Senior Leadership team here at Fowler.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and implement processes for Fleet management including safety, inventory, work orders, compliance, costing, cost control. maintenance, and purchasing.
  • Manage the equipment lifecycle and the profitability of all rolling stock.
  • Responsible for financials of the department - budgeting, forecasting, accurate accounting, and reporting.
  • Successfully negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Strategically focused - develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet the goals of the department.
  • Manage positive working relationships with your team of Fowler employees.
  • Ensure all Ministry and Fowler paperwork and reporting are completed in an accurate timely manner.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years progressive leadership experience successfully managing and supervising others.
  • 5+ years experience managing a Fleet of vehicles and/or yellow iron.
  • Mechanically minded - working knowledge of heavy equipment, half-tons, and fleet vehicles.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to negotiate with vendors, build relationships with stakeholders outside organization, relationship building and leadership development.
  • Experience with winter maintenance and Highway Traffic Act.
  • Valid G driver’s license.

Work Conditions:

  • Travel to various sites may be required.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
