Human Resources Generalist

Key Duties:

  • Develop employee engagement and retention strategies that promote positive employee relations e.g. annual engagement survey, stay surveys etc.
  • Explore opportunities to support positive and effective change within the organization.
  • Support and strengthen the onboarding process for new employees – update content, deliver content, and be a positive ambassador for Fowler.
  • Develop and deliver on-going training for Fowler employees by identifying trends and analyzing gaps or areas for improvement to positively impact the organization.
  • Work to create more formalizing mapping of sponsorship, mentorship and succession planning within the various business units of the organization.
  • Support team members with investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed.
  • Assist with managing and monitoring employee performance-related issues and with the performance review process.
  • Provide support with recruitment and selection efforts as needed including job offers.
  • Accurate HR administration - updating employee profiles on an ongoing basis, and actively contribute to the effective management of employee records.
  • Keep up to date on all HR related federal and provincial regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Support all Human Resources initiatives and provide support to other HR team members.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in an HR Generalist role is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in HR Management or a related field is required.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office; previous experience with HRIS systems, and capable of learning to effectively use new software programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication skills and capable of delivering presentations in an engaging and effective manner.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and capable of taking on projects independently.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred.

Work Conditions:

  • Interaction with others under varying circumstances-including situations of a highly sensitive nature.
  • Extended periods of sitting.
  • Busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Laptop and mobile phone will be provided.
  • Travel to different locations may be required.
