Fowler is hiring Winter Maintenance AZ/DZ Drivers to operate plows, sanders, or combination plow/sanders, while driving a tri-axle trucks or tandem sander trucks on District of Muskoka roads. The position is seasonal but may lead to year-round employment for the right candidates.

Key Duties:

• Safe and efficient operation of the spreader, plow wing or combo unit, to perform winter maintenance operations on designated district roads.
• Ensure compliance with applicable acts and regulations.
• Perform required trip inspections, and maintain required documentation manually or electronically.
• Load truck as required.
• Report accidents and traffic violations to the area supervisor.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must hold and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license.
• Able to stand, lift 50 lbs, carry, bend, reach.
• Must be capable of self-loading the truck.
• Experience in highway maintenance and snow plowing considered an asset.
• A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Strong work ethic, reliable and highly motivated.
• Must be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be capable of verbally communicating effectively in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Must be able to complete all necessary forms and documentation.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management.

Work Conditions:

• Requires long hours of driving using a company provided vehicle during work hours.
• Travel to various sites and locations will be required.
• Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
• Weekend, night and on-call shifts will be necessary based on weather conditions.
