District of Muskoka Snow Removal Equipment Operator

Fowler Construction is looking for equipment operators to safely operate snow removal equipment such as loaders and skid steers to perform snow removal at designated locations as directed by the Area Maintenance Contract Supervisor.

Key Duties:

  • Safely and efficiently operate snow removal equipment to perform winter maintenance operations at designated areas as per the contract.
  • Complete all tasks as directed by the AMC Supervisor.
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance is performed for all equipment used.
  • Record and maintain all required documentation, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the AMC Supervisor.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, etc..
  • Knowledge of winter maintenance operations is required.
  • Strong work ethic; must be able to work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach.
  • Punctual and available to work 55 hours per week.
  • Must be able and willing to perform physical labour.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to work on-call and respond to weather conditions in a timely manner.

Work Conditions:

  • Requires long hours of operating equipment during work hours.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
  • Weekend, night, and on-call shifts may be required based on weather conditions.
