This client approached us with the idea of beautifying their cottage property by adding some features, a man-made stream and pond, and designing the landscaping around those features to make them look completely natural. We did the project design, sculpted the land, installed the features and the landscaping. Click on the images to below to see before and after photos of this project.
The object for this cottage property was to create a landscape design that evoked the feeling of a country garden. The design incorporates a number of walkways, flagstone sitting areas, stone steps down to the water and rock retaining walls. Click on the images to below to enlarge.
Wet Laid Flagstone work is installed on a concrete core and mortared into place, with a mortar joint, as opposed to flagstone which is laid on gravel and a dry jointing material is used. It suggests an ‘English Garden’ look and is more durable in general than a dry laid approach. There is less maintenance with wet laid flagstone. Click on the images below to enlarge.
This property features a Fowler Driveway sweeping up to the front of the house. The back includes a series of tiered gardens and custom built terraces and stone steps down to the water. Click on the images below to enlarge.
