At the start, the company had a focus on the logging industry; however, it was soon clear that the company’s future lay in road construction, aggregates and asphalt production.
In 1971, Bruce Evans purchased the company and started it on a path of expansion that would lead to the Fowler Construction that most people recognize today. Water and sewer work, golf course construction, seasonal road maintenance, as well as excavation and site preparation, were added to Fowler’s list of services.
Throughout the 80’s, 90’s and into the new millennium, the company continued to grow and flourish, becoming one of the largest employers in Muskoka (today employing more than 400 people) and also establishing itself as a true industry leader in its many fields of expertise.
Fowler’s President, Moreen Miller, along with the Board of Directors, continue to accelerate the growth of the business and its commitment to continuous improvement. They have modernized and expanded the Fowler fleet of equipment to the most technically advanced in our industry. They remain committed to improving on the already long legacy of the successes enjoyed by Fowler Construction and searching for future growth opportunities.
Fowler has been the recipient of many provincial awards for their commitment to quality products and construction.
With Fowler being one of the major aggregate producers in Ontario, our commitment to Environmental Stewardship is paramount. Fowler was recently recognized by the Ontario Stone, Sand and Gravel Association with its Environmental Achievement Award for Fowler’s Sage Creek Protection Area Plan.
